We visited Samsung’s roadshow at VivoCity during the weekend and, as always, it was a lot of fun! If you’re wondering about the difference between the Note8 and the Note9, it mainly boils down to these 3: slightly bigger screen, more powerful battery and a bluetooth-enabled stylus. Whether you own a Samsung gadget or not, it’s always a good idea to head down to these events because it’s freebies galore PLUS you get a chance to win the latest Samsung device in a lucky draw! Of course, I have yet to win a phone from Samsung (pick me, pick me!) but I have won tickets to USS previously, which I gifted to my photographer pal. 
In the picture above, you see the AR Emoji Gallery where we had our pictures taken and transformed into cute characters whose hairstyle, clothing, etc, we could customise. And then get a printout after. It was a pity that the devices were left in the hands of the staff and we could only give verbal directions instead of testing it out ourselves. But I guess people would just take too long if ‘left to their own devices‘. Haha!
FREE ice cream!
The lady who gave us the ice cream was Japanese. And, no kidding, I spotted her again yesterday. Right outside an ice cream shop at Clarke Quay. So I think I know where this ‘Samsung Pay’ ice cream is from. 
If you don’t already know, when you are using VR devices it can cause you to feel a little bit dizzy! Coupled with the fact that these seats actually move, like in those 6D movies you go to, it can be quite a stomach-churning experience if you’ve just had your lunch. I refused to get on it because from previous experience I know it’s not a ride that I would appreciate or enjoy.
But lucky draws are my favorite! As usual, there was the opportunity to take part in the Samsung Lucky Draw and win the latest gadget which is the Samsung Note9 right now. Participants who complete four of the various stations at the roadshow also get to redeem a free Samsung umbrella. I’m not sure how much Samsung spends on all these roadshow events but I believe it to be money well spent. EVERYONE gets to experience using the newest products and collect freebies along the way. Samsung members also received free screen protectors and diagnostic tests for their phones!

I’ve just retired my Samsung S5 and begun using my Note8 so I am definitely not purchasing the Note9 anytime soon. Happy to win one though! 
And I have to say that Samsung products really do last pretty long. I don’t think I’m upgrading my handset till perhaps there’s a Note13 or 14!
