Since the time I last blogged about Crunchy Teeth, I’ve been following them on Facebook and I recently spotted their post about a giveaway of 20 ‘Limited Edition Brandy Fruitcakes’! I think it’s probably still available since the post is still there at this point in writing. Go get yours now! So I shamelessly requested for a free fruitcake, and decided I’ll get some of the citrus cookies I loved previously as well. Apparently not shameless enough to get a freebie without buying something else.
Haha! I collected the goodies at their office / bakery at 156 MacPherson Road, shortly after that miraculous encounter with my former JC Econs teacher in a tau huay shop.
If you don’t already know, Crunchy Teeth is a ‘social enterprise bakery’ which is helping adults with autism by equipping them with baking skills and opening the doors to employment for them. I think the name’s so cute and intriguing – Crunchy Teeth! And they are doing such good work. Please support them! Now, in all honesty, a social enterprise is *not* worthy of support just because they are a social enterprise IF their offerings suck. A social enterprise is basically a business that has the aim of helping a certain (perhaps) marginalized segment of society. But first and foremost, it is a business and not a charity. It must provide goods and/or services that are in demand, and up to standard. Crunchy Teeth has got this down pat. Their cookies are delicious.
I got myself the Lemon Citrus Cookies at 300g for $15:
It’s just been two days since and only one-third of the cookies remain.
And when I was there, the bakers had trays of pineapple tarts and other CNY goodies out, and they were packing them into boxes. I asked if I could take a photo, and this cute guy picks up one of these open-faced pineapple tarts and offers it to me. How sweet of him! The tart was delicious, of course. Why did I not think about ordering pineapple tarts?!
If you haven’t gotten your CNY goodies yet, please consider getting some from Crunchy Teeth. Go pick them up after they are freshly baked and I’m sure you’ll fall in love.

At this point, I realize I have yet to review the fruitcake! It’s delicious. I love that there’s a generous amount of raisins. My impression of fruitcake has always been that there’ll be bright red and green bits in them – some candied cherries, according to Google. But these aren’t in Crunchy Teeth’s version. It would be even better if it’s more moist, but maybe it won’t keep as long if there’s too much moisture.
I’m definitely looking forward to trying more of the goodies from Crunchy Teeth. Now I just need to find a workout regimen I can actually keep to. CNY is not going to be good for my waistline. (@_@)
