Our current Circuit Breaker (CB) is scheduled to end on 4th May, assuming there are no extensions. As luck would have it, back in March, I’d already made a reservation for my favorite Carousel buffet for 5th May, 12noon. That was before the announcement was made about the CB, so I’ve been thinking that by some stroke of luck, I’ll be celebrating the end of the CB with a buffet – my favorite one, no less. AND… I received this email yesterday. In case it’s not too clear in the screenshot above:
Hi Ms Grace
The hotel is stepping in to collaborate with Singapore authorities to help with the situation. In preparation for this, we are required to vacant the hotel and restaurant. This took effect on Monday, 30 March 2020. It is with regret that we have to cancel the reservations from this date till 31 May 2020.
Please let us know if you would like to reschedule your reservation to a later date, and we will be delighted to assist.
We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
Thank you for your support and keep safe.

The email doesn’t provide further details about what exactly the hotel is helping the authorities with. But that they have to vacate the premises – both the hotel and the restaurant.
Without speculating about anything… it appears my buffet’s not gonna happen till sometime in June, I guess.
Also, you won’t be able to book a room at the Royal Plaza on Scotts for the whole of May though previously they’d advertised about special staycation rates for SG residents:

CNA has reported that we have 942 new COVID-19 cases today. So, as always, I guess we just have to stay home and stay safe. Buffets and staycations can wait.
