M1 said that its subscribers who were affected by the service disruption this week would receive an SMS and email with a one-click link to claim the rebate. I did not receive the email but I did get the SMS this afternoon (screenshot above). I’m still not quite sure why they keep harping on the “network bolstering initiative”. For the uninitiated like myself, it sounds like M1 is saying “We tried to do something that would benefit you, the user, but things went wrong, and ended up causing you frustration instead”. Erm… OK, please stop doing these things again. At least wait till the end of the CB!
After clicking on the link, I’m brought to this page where I have to hit the red ‘Confirm’ button to indicate that I’m one of the users who’d suffered due to the service disruption:

And now that I head back to M1’s facebook page, it appears that many have yet to receive the SMS and are wondering when it’ll be sent to them. M1’s reply is that the messages will be sent over the course of a few days.
And thankfully, internet access is fine where I am. But some people in Woodlands, Jurong West, Queenstown, Sembawang, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, etc are still facing issues with their internet connection.
