Rico Bubble Milk Tea In A Can

Pop into any convenience store and you’ll probably find a bubble milk tea beverage or two. They could be packaged in plastic bottles, glass bottles and even cans! I asked my darling to get me bubble milk tea when he’s out today, and he came home with a can of RICO’s Bubble Milk Tea Drink. There are 3 flavors: Milk Tea, Brown Sugar and Matcha. You can find them exclusively at Cheers. By the way, if you think the price will be comparable to your regular canned beverage, think again. It’s $2.50 each! I pm-ed Cheers on FB to ask if there’s a discount for getting a carton of them and my message was read but there’s no reply. 😛 I guess it’s a no.

As for the taste, I have to say it’s one of the better tasting bottled/canned bubble milk teas. It’s similar to Pokka’s milk tea. However, the pearls are a major letdown. They are the size of papaya seeds (and they look almost similar too), which means they are very small – you probably won’t even need a boba straw for these. It’s not shiok at all. It’s not chewy like your usual bubble tea pearls from places like KOI.

I’m not sure which is worse: not getting your usual bubble tea fix OR getting a lousy substitute that doesn’t satisfy the craving.

If you’re really desperate, then by all means get a can or two. If you don’t really enjoy boba to begin with, may I recommend that you simply get a bottle of Pokka’s milk tea instead. The earl grey one’s not bad. 🙂
