I caught the movie ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ in Gold Class yesterday, with tickets courtesy of Golden Village. Thank you, GV! 
I know many people find Gold Class tickets pricey ($29 weekdays, $39 weekends) but for certain movies, it DOES make sense to purchase Gold Class tickets.
1) You can watch the usual 1-hour-plus movie with a normal ticket which costs $8.50. But ‘The Hobbit’ lasts 161 minutes, close to 3 hours! I really think paying $29 for a weekday Gold Class ticket is well worth it!
2) The Hobbit is not your usual action-packed movie. Sure, there are fast-paced (and truly hilarious) scenes, such as the barrels down the river one, but some parts of the movie *may* put your movie companion to sleep. Instead of waking up with neck cramps, why not relax in a Gold Class recliner seat?
3) For movies which last over 2 hours, having a blanket to snuggle under is pretty important. I didn’t walk out of the theatre with freezing fingers and toes yesterday.
I won’t even bother reviewing the movie because it’s one of those movies where reviews don’t matter – people are still going to watch it anyway.
