We had lunch at Tingkat PeraMakan at Thomson Plaza this afternoon, as my darling had bought a Fave voucher for a Nyonya set meal for 2. The voucher costs $30.76 and should still be available if you head over to Fave now. They have many dishes to choose from and we picked Beef Rendang, Ikan Garam Assam and Nyonya Chap Chye. As for the drinks, we chose Lemongrass and Barley. Ordinarily, I’d have trouble finishing the plate of rice but the sauces for the assam fish and the beef rendang are SO good, I managed to eat all the rice and even thought of ordering more. My goodness! If you’re on a diet, avoid this place. You’ll end up eating more rice than usual!
And if you cannot get enough of their delicious sauces, well, you’ll see jars and jars of them on sale the minute you step into this eatery. For something like $8, you can bring home a jar of yumminess. And I think they sell crackers too, like keropok and stuff. Dangerous. Very dangerous.
My darling couldn’t resist getting a $2.50 box of ondeh ondeh too. I think they taste alright. Though I’ve never been a fan of ondeh ondeh. Haha. I don’t really like grated coconut. But I’m OK with other types of kueh. As for the drinks, my darling had one sip of the lemongrass and said, straightaway, “Healthier Choice!” Haha! Yup, the drinks here are really low in sugar. Perfect if you’re indulging in some kueh.
As for the parking at Thomson Plaza, I have to say that we were quite surprised to see the long line of cars at the entrance to the carpark. Apparently, many drive to this mall for lunch. Upon entering the carpark, which was FULL, I saw many drivers waiting for lots to become available. And instead of turning right like just about everyone else did, I told my darling to go left and within a mere couple of seconds, we found an unoccupied lot which no one else spotted. Hehe. Definitely pop by after lunchtime if you can. Otherwise parking’s going to be an issue.
