Finally got my Booster Jab

sengkang vaccination centre freebies

The vaccination centre at Sengkang will be closing soon, in a few days’ time. Just as well. I got my very first booster jab today. I’ve postponed getting the booster for the longest time. I think the main reason is I found that I fared worse after the the second jab versus actually getting COVID-19. 😀 I was quite certain I was on my deathbed after the second vaccine jab… feverish, needing backrubs and very sure I would breathe my last soon. LOL. Actually getting COVID? Well… just an itchy throat and not much else. I started doing my laundry and some housework on Day 2 or 3.

As you can see in the picture above, I received a few freebies today at Sengkang’s vaccination centre. I was on my way to the washroom before my appointment, and there were ladies handing out reusable masks – 2 at a time. So I already collected 2 masks before I’d even got my jab. If you need a free mask, you know where to go! 😉 They’re giving them out like super-enthusiastic flyer distributers. I don’t know how many thousands of masks they have to give out by month-end but they sure are doing a good job!

After the jab, though, I received only a bottle of hand sanitiser plus 5 more of the same reusable masks! XD Compare these with what my darling received earlier this month, at the same centre:

Yup! I’d much rather get the disposable masks. Less troublesome. XD

I do wonder if the hand sanitiser might be mistaken as a bottle of water. Because it’s blue and… the brand is ‘Fuji’. It closely resembles Fiji mineral water. Thankfully it’s sealed in plastic so people (even those who cannot read the label) might think twice before removing the cap and putting the bottle to their lips.

Anyway… my arm’s feeling a little sore already. Hopefully that’ll be the only side effect this time. *fingers crossed*

If you haven’t got your booster jabs, don’t wait any longer. The vaccination centres are shutting down one by one. It’ll get more troublesome the longer you wait. Then you’ll have to go find one of the remaining ones, which may not be close to your home or workplace.

I booked the 10.30am slot for today. And there was no one in the waiting area for registration. No queues. I got my jab immediately after registration. And there were only about 8 people seated in the observation area. Previously we had to wait for 30 minutes before being ‘discharged’, right? Now it’s only 15 minutes and off you go. Faster than getting a haircut! (@_@)
