The Sukiya outlet at Waterway Point has been open since January but we only got to dine there yesterday! LOL. Why? Because it’s super popular! Students, especially, seem to love this eatery. So if you pop by after school has been dismissed for the day, you might find the whole place filled with students from the same school. My darling and I have popped by multiple times before, noticed how the place was filled with diners, did a U-turn and went to eat elsewhere. If my memory does not fail me, this spot used to be a place for bak kut teh, and business wasn’t always very good then. I’d thought it was the fengshui. But… Sukiya has proven me wrong. For them, this area outside Best Denki and Scarlett Supermarket apparently has GREAT fengshui. If you manage to score a seat here during mealtimes, consider yourself very fortunate!

We popped by around 11.30am yesterday and there was only one table occupied, I believe. We could take our pick of the available tables and staff came by to give us two very weak cups of tea.

He wanted to order some melted cheese gyudon thingy but apparently, they’d run out of melted cheese. What? So early in the day?

I had the regular gyudon you see in the image above, together with their veggie combo of kangkong+miso soup. (M-size gyudon costs $4.90 while the combo add-on was an additional $2). The food here’s pretty affordably-priced so little wonder why it’s a hit with students!

Because that melted cheese thingy wasn’t available, my darling ordered the egg yakiniku version… And his salad+iced lemon tea combo cost an additional $3.50, making his set cost a total of $11.40! *Ahem* I think mine’s more worth it. XD

The weak tea and chopsticks you can help yourself to. Apparently the buzzers at each table don’t work.

Well, one thing I learned yesterday was that I can get the gyudon in XM size. Apparently, it’s a medium bowl but with extra meat. Haiz. Why did no one tell me this earlier? LOL.

Since there’s no service charge here (GST is already included in the prices), Sukiya’s a very attractive place to dine at when you’re visiting Waterway Point.

Sukiya is located at B1-23, at the East wing of Waterway Point. 😉
