Cedele @ Waterway Point: That Chocolate Matcha Cake People Are Raving About

I’ve been a fan of Cedele’s Eggless Chocolate Truffle Cake for the longest time now, and when I found that people were raving about the Chocolate Matcha Cake, I just had to try it. :) And since my pal’s celebrating his birthday this week, I thought it’d be fun to have cake together! :D At Waterway Point, there is no shortage of dessert places. But I definitely do have my favorites. :)

The chocolate matcha cake at Cedele is great for people who don’t really have a sweet tooth, but would like to enjoy a slice of cake. Perfect if you are a fan of matcha in the first place. And this cake is not cloyingly sweet like a lot of matcha beverages or chocolate cakes are. This one features fluffy layers of green tea sponge cake with chocolate truffle and green tea cream. The slice I bought had a chocolate ‘ball’ on top (it looked exactly like a ferrero rocher chocolate) and I let my pal have it.

But if you’re not a matcha fan, and prefer just pure chocolatey goodness, then go for the chocolate truffle cake ($6.50/slice, $48 whole). The chocolate matcha cake is also a little pricier at $7.50/slice and $58 whole. I really LOVE their chocolate truffle cake. It often gets sold out quickly in Cedele’s various outlets islandwide, so when I see that it’s available, I’ll usually get a slice. *oops*

What’s interesting, though, is that when I asked Cedele staff whether they serve iced water, I was told that they serve tap water. I can’t remember if the staff said “filtered tap water” or “room temperature tap water”. Because after I heard it was “tap water”, I was like ‘oh no, it’s ok then’. :D Popping by Cedele at Waterway Point? Bring your own water bottle. I sure will next time. :)
