I was about to say “Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, please!” at Subway when I spotted a teeny weeny sticker regarding the NEW Pineapple cookie. It’s the first time I’ve seen a pineapple cookie in Singapore. Pineapple tarts, yes. Golf ball pineapple tarts, yes. Pineapple ‘cake’ from Taiwan, yes. But pineapple cookie? And is it a good cookie?
Well, it has the qualities of a good cookie, or at least a cookie that I appreciate: It’s soft, chewy and moist. You know some cookies have gone stale when they’re hard and dry. So this one I most definitely like.
It doesn’t taste like pineapple tarts. And that’s great too as I’ve eaten SO MANY pineapple tarts this Chinese New Year. It does taste a little bit like the pineapple ‘cakes’ (or rather, pastry) from Taiwan. Similar, but not exactly alike. So I think it’s great for when I have a pineapple tart or cake craving but I don’t want to go out and purchase an entire box of them. A Subway cookie would do.
I don’t know if it’s a permanent addition to their cookie offerings, but I sure hope it stays. Go try it if you haven’t already done so. And tell me ‘huat’ you think about it k!

Subway currently has some $5.90 combos which come with a sub, cookie and drink. My personal fav is the BBQ Chicken Strips sub.
