The Kotex Overnight Panties are selling really well in Singapore. They’re sold out on some online platforms, and stocks are low in stores as well. I bought the last box of the M-L sized ones yesterday evening at an NTUC FairPrice store. This product is much better than any sanitary pad with extra length or even wings (those will still spring some leaks during heavy flow nights). This is one of those rare times when I’d go to a store to purchase a product after having tried a free sample I got online. If you haven’t tried this product before, you’ll have to go purchase it as Kotex appears to have stopped giving out samples (you can only get the regular pad samples now).
The reason I bought the M-L sized ones yesterday, even though the S-M sized ones fit me perfectly well, is due to this 1 design flaw:
There’s this perforation at the back of the box, that’s supposed to help you tear open the box easily. I found two opened boxes of the S-M sized panties at FairPrice yesterday. I’m guessing someone either accidentally gripped the top of the box with too much force, causing the tear along the dotted lines, OR someone had ripped it open to get a look and feel of the product inside. Thus, the last two boxes of the S-M sized panties would probably have to be returned to Kotex. I certainly wouldn’t buy them.
*There was a piece of scotch tape placed over the broken seal of one of the boxes. I guess FairPrice staff tried to patch it up. So, when you next go to a store to purchase this item, make sure you check if it’s in original condition or if the seal’s already broken.
It would be so much better if the boxes didn’t come with this perforation, just like cereal boxes.
This product doesn’t come cheap. There are two overnight panties in each box. The regular retail price is $3.50 but you can easily find promotions online or in stores (buy 2 at FairPrice and get $1.05 off, I think). It may be pricey for a one-use item, but you won’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to get a change of pad.
