Durian SG Prime sent me two boxes of durians on Saturday – one contained Black Gold durian and the other, Old Tree Mao Shan Wang. Both have apparently come from the Famous Tiger Mountain, which I’d never heard of prior to this introduction! There’s also the Indigo Hill Mountain and the Cold White Leaf Mountain! You really have to check out Durian SG Prime’s website for all the details about these mountains. Intriguing locations aside, this company also prides itself on providing the “cheapest durian delivery in Singapore”. And yes, you can get free delivery when you spend $99 or more on their durians which are sold at ‘wholesale prices’, having effectively cut out the middleman. I was impressed enough by their Black Gold durians to leave them a 5-star review on Google though they did not request for me to do so. And if you were to ‘like’ them on Facebook, you can get 5% discount off your order too – just PM the admin for the discount code. And if you’re concerned about what would happen if the durians delivered to you are not of great quality, you’ll find on their website a tab right at the top which states ‘REFUND DURIAN’ – you simply have to input the required details, attach some pictures and describe the issue with the durian delivered to you, and the team will get back to you by the next business day with your refund.
Suffice to say that we REALLY enjoyed the durians. The seeds were long and flat. There were none of those big round seeds. I am aware, of course, that since these durians were sent to me for review that yup, they’d be really good. So I’m definitely going to order durians from Durian SG Prime and update this post in future. I most certainly want to try durians from the Indigo Hill Mountain and the Cold White Leaf Mountain, and see how they compare with durians from the Famous Tiger Mountain. 
*Right now, they seem to be all ‘sold out’ on the website, which I take to mean that it’s off-season at the moment so I’ll just have to be patient and wait.
And before I forget, it was indeed a bit of a wait for the durians to be delivered on Saturday. I was told that it would perhaps be here by 5pm, then there was a delay with the durians arriving 7-ish, so finally the order arrived at my home just before 9.30pm when I was about to head to bed. Ahaha! But we agreed that the durians were worth the wait. And whatever we couldn’t finish was placed in the freezer and the durians STILL tasted good on Monday – imagine that! So don’t worry about ordering too much. If you manage to get them at a good price, just order more and freeze them up for another day.
My darling also commented on the large boxes the durians come in. The good thing about the size of the box is that your dehusked durians keep their shape – they’re not squashed in shallower boxes when the plastic lids are pressed down on the flesh. So I’d say these are really good as gifts too. You can order the durians to be sent to friends and family, and be assured they’ll look and taste good.
