Sally’s just might be my new favorite diner. It’s located at level 1 of Compass One, along the same row as umisushi, Mr Bean, Old Chang Kee, etc. I’m a fan of their curry chicken – my darling bought it once for me as takeaway. Today, we popped by for lunch. I had the curry chicken with rice once again, while he ordered Sally’s Pork Ball & Scrambled Eggs w/Toast and the Sally’s Pork Ball Spaghetti (which I’d wanted to try). Yes, two of us shared three mains, ‘cos we were hungry lah. Also, it’s not too pricey. Sally’s Curry Chicken w/Rice (or French Loaf) costs $8.90 and as for the other two mains we ordered today, we agreed that the Toast set provided more value for money. XD

Having said that, my darling did also find eggshells in the scrambled egg. We typically do not complain about such things – eggshells, strands of hair, random piece of plastic, etc. But if there’s a cockroach or some other dead creature which should not be there, then yes, we’d make some noise eh?

The meatballs are presented in a similar fashion as IKEA’s but taste-wise, I think IKEA has an edge. I like the scrambled eggs on toast though, sans eggshells, of course. As for the pasta, hmm, honestly, it tastes like something you can make at home yourself with store-bought pasta sauce. Nothing really special… but if they could add some sliced chili padi… Yum!
With regard to the curry chicken, I have to say that the rice is not fantastic. Short-grain rice that’s a little hard (probably undercooked or cooked with insufficient water). I love the curry though. It usually has two chunks of potato within, plus two chicken wings. The curry is the lemak-type, not the watery kind, so it’s rather satisfying.
Also, Sally’s has interesting wall decor… I spotted ‘Mee Siam Mai Hum’… and yes, they do sell Mee Siam here (it costs $7.80!) and I dare you to ask for hum with your mee siam! Muahahaa!

Sally’s is located at #01-25 of Compass One. There’s no service charge because it’s self-service here. BUT there’s GST.
You find a table, note the table number, then head to the counter to place your order and make payment, then collect a buzzer. When your food’s ready, they’ll buzz you. Cutlery’s already placed at each table so you only have to collect your food.
