Had dinner at Swensen’s Waterway Point last week and I got to order steak with confidence again. 
This is one of the few places that don’t overcook my steak. The Swensen’s outlet at Bishan Junction 8, for one, always gives me ‘well done’ steak regardless of the doneness I’ve ordered. (@_@) I would have gotten the best of both worlds if the steak fries had been available that day too but, alas, they weren’t on the menu so I had to assume they were sold out. So I let my darling pick the second side dish for my main and he chose the cheesy macaroni (he instantly regretted it ‘cos it was tough, clumpy and with just a little drizzle of cheese). It was my treat that day as he’d been super sweet in sending my dad for his medical appointment, waiting there for a couple of hours, and then sending him home.
Watching our parents age, and witnessing the health woes they face, has made me realise that we need to get our act together if we do not wish to be a burden to Melody in future, as she does not have a sibling to ‘share the load with’. We’ll have to ‘eat smart’ and move more. So ya… we’ll start by eating less red meat and cutting down on carbs… right after this meal. 
He ordered the good ol’ fish and chips, and I think I must have fed him most of it because he was busy attending to Melody. LOL. This outlet holds special memories for us. Because back in 2022, the week before Melody was born, we were DESPERATE. The doctor had said that based on the ultrasound scan, Melody would be born on the small side, and I’d likely not be going home together with her. So one of the meals I had before my scheduled delivery date was at Swensen’s Waterway Point. LOL.
I had gestational diabetes so this meal of steak and fries definitely should not be on the menu for me…
He also ordered fried chicken, which we shared. My blood sugar reading must have been off-the-charts then. Hahaa!
And we did not forget about ordering the Sticky Chewy Chocolate sundae too. ‘Cos… might as well, right?
And… a couple of months later… (which feels like a few lifetimes already)… here’s the outcome of THAT Swensen’s meal…

I think we’ll come back again only when Melody can actually enjoy a kid’s meal here. But hey, if you want a steak done well… this outlet won’t disappoint you.
