I feel like I’m Mummys Market’s number 1 fan. Ha! Been going to every single MM baby fair since I discovered I was pregnant. Love love loved their goodie bags and all the great buys. This time round, it’s no different ‘cept that I no longer get a pregnancy goodie bag I think the organiser cleverly chose this long weekend for their April 2023 fair and MY GOODNESS getting a lot in the carpark was SO very difficult. If you encounter some traffic congestion this weekend at/near Expo, well, it’s certainly because of the Mummys Market. LOL. Inside the hall, it was a ‘people mountain people sea’ situation BUT one I’d be happy to brave to get to the good deals. In the picture above, you see some of the items I’d preordered and went to collect on Day 1 of the fair – yesterday. Yeah… I’ve become a Dr Brown’s fan too and here are more good buys:
$3.90 for a 150ml wide neck Dr Brown’s bottle! We bought 2 (since it’s limited to 1 per person)…

$1 per pack of Dr Brown’s baby wipes! I bought 2 packs as there’s no limit for how many you can purchase. Even told the couple behind me in the queue to go get some as it’s so cheap now!

Here’s my darling carrying our Hamilton Trolley Wagon back to the car… this would be perfect for the next Mummys Market fair! Hopefully Melody will be able to sit upright without support by then… and she can hitch a ride in the wagon too. It supports up to 80kg!

I’m super thankful for this guy. He has been patiently attending each baby fair with me, and without complaint. And helping to carry my purchases both big and small. Luckily we did not bring Melody with us! XD
After the Mummys Market baby expo, we went to the MoneyMax Warehouse Sale nearby… at 7 Changi Business Park Vista. If you visit the SINGPromos webpage regarding this event, you’ll find a digital flyer you can print out. The claw machine coupons entitle you to a free try per person. I caught a pink capsule… and won a pink bunny. And I also caught a gold capsule for him, which contained a coupon allowing the user to purchase a pearl necklace at $19.90 and get a pair of pearl earrings for free. So it’s what you see in the left side of this picture below. The staff then told us it’ll be placed into a pretty box (like the one on the right).

I won the rabbit plush… which is their gift with a $500 purchase…

He ALMOST dropped 300-plus bucks on a gold chain for Melody. I said it didn’t make any sense as I don’t see her wearing it any time soon. And my mother later said Melody might tug at the chain and injure her neck in the process. So… luckily, we didn’t buy it.
We then had a rather late lunch (almost 2pm) in Bedok. At the hawker centre at block 216, there was a rather long queue for this stall called ‘Prawn & Mee’ which leaves no room for doubt as to what they sell here.

We’d wanted to try the version with pork ribs but alas! Someone ahead of us in the queue got the final bowl! So we had the $7 version of (only) prawns and mee. Knocked $3 off per bowl with the PayLah Friday promo.
And we were among their last customers for the day but still… the presentation wowed us:

The prawns are ridiculously fresh and succulent. Almost as yummy as if we’d gone prawning and caught them ourselves! And the (young) hawkers have also been very considerate – they removed most of the shell, leaving just the head and tail, so customers won’t have to get their hands dirty – just bite into the flesh right away.
Prawn & Mee deserves top marks for presentation, for being so thoughtful in deshelling the prawns and for the provision of rather large chunks of pork lard. That said, we did still find that the prawn mee stall in Sengkang WINS as it has a superior broth.
OK… now I’m craving for some prawn noodles. Especially since there’s been a rumble of thunder and I believe it’s gonna rain soon. (@_@)
