I think the main reason for typing out this blogpost is to leave a record of what we did for my birthday this year because my darling and I have reached that age group whereby we start asking (out loud) “Eh, how did we celebrate your birthday last year ah?” and memories are fuzzy, but to avoid panicking about how quickly our brains are aging (in part because of sleep deprivation after becoming parents), we just make it seem like it’s no big deal that no one can remember. XD Ahaha! So… this time last year, Melody was still in my tummy and being about to pop, I don’t think we did anything extreme (See? Still cannot recall) but this year… she’s here… and while it’s my birthday, most people looking at our family might think it’s Melody’s birthday instead. Hehehe.
For lunch, we went to Marche at Vivocity. Collected $50 in Mapletree vouchers prior to that as we’d won a prize in an Instagram photo contest organised by Vivocity in conjunction with their wonderful Sanrio-themed Mid-Autumn festival decor. In the first picture below, Melody was actually clapping when I brought the “free” cake near her (probably thinking that she’s gonna be the one eating it. Hahaha!)

And for dinner, we had steak at Swensen’s in Waterway Point. As it was close to home, we had Melody wear something more comfy. She couldn’t eat what we were having so I’d bought her Don Don Donki’s baked sweet potato ($1 today).

So erm… Melody had a lot of fun today! LOL
I don’t think we actually knew how tiring having a child would be. For instance, we took turns to eat at Swensen’s and his food was all cold by the time he got back from toys’r’us with Melody. But his lil princess had such fun going down the slide, and playing with the toys and carousel(!) that he didn’t mind one bit. XD
And soon enough… it’ll be his birthday. He actually specified the present he wants and I’ve already placed an order for it. LOL. There won’t be overseas trips or even prawning here in Singapore ‘cos it’s not really infant-friendly. We’re just waiting (desperately) for her to start walking and talking and eating the same food as us (and sleeping through the night!!!)
And since I’ve gotten the best present ever (the daughter I’ve always wanted), my only birthday wish is for her to grow up healthy and happy.
Now I’m off to sleep by her side so I can take care of her night feeds (yup, he and I take turns). Happy Birthday to me, and sweet dreams for my lil boss.
