I received a voucher at one of the baby fairs I visited, and it was for a complimentary confinement trial meal from NouRiche. It’s my first pregnancy, and I’ve never heard of this company before. But since it’s free and the meal will be delivered to my doorstep, hey, why not give it a try? And so I did. You have to book in advance if you wish to savor NouRiche’s confinement food – for the trials, they deliver on Saturdays exclusively. You can choose from a lunch or dinner option. I opted for dinner and I have to say that the ONLY complaint I can possibly think of is the delivery timing: the meal can arrive any time between 3.30pm and 7pm. So what happens if I’m starving at, say, 4pm and the food arrives just shy of 7pm? Might be hangry by then. 
Haha! Otherwise, everything else about this usually-$35 meal was fabulous. As you can see in the picture above, it’s all well-sealed, with no spills. And instead of a dessert, you get an extra cup of tea – perfect since this meal is good enough for 2 people!
And if you were wondering, the delivery came at 5.45pm on 27th August. The meal comes in a complimentary thermal bag and I was pleasantly surprised at finding out that the food’s still warm! Am too lazy to reheat stuff these days. XD
Their Prenatal Pork Rib Soup (安胎排骨汤) is really tasty indeed. And since no MSG is added, I have to assume that the generous serving of pork ribs gave the soup its excellent flavour.
And there’s Braised Chicken w/ Eucommia（药膳杜仲鸡). According to Google, eucommia is a herb which supposedly helps ‘lower blood pressure and prevent complications from diabetes’. Great! I think I counted some 6 chicken drumlets or so, and there’s baby(?) kailan which I love, on top of wolfberries – great for your eyes.
And in case you haven’t got enough protein…
There’s the Stir Fried Broccoli w/ Fresh Mushroom & Sliced Fish（西兰花鲜菇炒鱼片). And do not worry about any fishy smell or taste. They do add thinly-sliced strips of ginger to take care of that. And there’s lots of broccoli, mushroom and carrot under the fish.
I did not take much of the rice since it seemed to be largely white rice to me. Would have loved to be given brown rice or a mixture of white+brown rice. 
I loved the non-sweet red date tea though!
Overall, this meal left US very satisfied. I say ‘US’ because my darling ate most of it. Haha! As I’m in my third trimester and fast running out of ‘tummy space’, I eat small meals and usually need help with finishing the rice and most of the food. XD
