We chose to dine out on National Day (just one meal!) and you’d expect everywhere to be crowded/fully booked, right? I thought so too. But my darling managed to get us a reservation via Eatigo for Mosanco Enchanted Cafe in Bedok. And here’s the best part: there was 50% discount! Woah…
[tl;dr version]
- The Enchanted Breakfast ($19.90 before discount) is definitely worth trying!
- They serve All Day Brunch!
- They have Bandung Waffles – wanna try?
- Board games chargeable at $5/Hour/Pax
It’s a charming little cafe located at Blk 510, Bedok North St 3. From the pictures above, you’ll be able to tell we had dessert too. Muahaha! And oh…
Melody’s all-red outfit (National Day mah…) cost something like THREE SINGAPORE DOLLARS ONLY! Why am I mentioning this? Because my mother recently told me that a “concerned” individual read your blog and thinks you shouldn’t be spending so much on branded clothes for Melody. I was incredulous. HUH? When? What did I buy? I’ve never bought any LV / Gucci / Chanel items for Melody. What nonsense is this person spouting?
Apparently… that person had read my blogpost about going to KKH for the car seat checkup… and get this… I bought ONE article of clothing for my ONE AND ONLY daughter from Mothercare, not freaking Moschino or Michael Kors. Plus the item was heavily discounted: $15 instead of the usual $35.90! It’s not $1500 OK? Branded, my foot! I don’t know why I even have to bother with explaining to childless people that me buying stuff for my only child has got NOTHING (ABSOLUTELY NOTHING) to do with them and could they please mind their own business?
*And to tell my mother I shouldn’t have spent $15 on a pair of jeans for Melody is nuts. Because my mother is the one who spent almost $120 on two dresses for Melody. So… quit barking up the wrong tree already. *eyeroll*
[rant over]
So at Mosanco Enchanted Cafe, I ordered the Chili Crabmeat Linguine and my darling had the Enchanted Breakfast w/Avocado. We also ordered their Matcha Waffle with two scoops of ice cream: Hokkaido Milk and Belgium Chocolate Deluxe.

This linguine dish is peculiar. First up, I did a double take because… is this not spaghetti instead of linguine? I cook linguine every week so this looked suspiciously like spaghetti instead of linguine as I know it. Hmm… anyway, on the menu, it’s described as Linguine with Crabmeat, Chilli Padi, and Egg in Homemade Tomato Sauce. Any pasta dish which has chilli padi will most certainly get my attention. XD This one, however, had more chilli flakes than chilli padi so if they’d ask for my opinion, well, I’d say keep the flakes and just use (more) chilli padi as is stated on your menu. XD They’re generous with the crabmeat so that’s a real plus. If you’re ordering this, and you love spicy food, do ask if the chef can make this spicier for you.
As for his Enchanted Breakfast, there was scrambled eggs (good), baked mushrooms (delicious), toasted sourdough (he liked) and turkey bacon (he ate, I didn’t). There was a salad with cherry tomatoes too. And we chose the ‘Smashed Avocado’ instead of Smoked Salmon (which required an additional payment of $5). We enjoyed the avocado very much.
As for dessert, the matcha waffle didn’t taste very matcha-ish but it was crispy so that’s good. The ice cream did not tick all the boxes for me. The Hokkaido Milk wasn’t milky enough. And the Belgium Chocolate Deluxe did not taste as decadent as I’d expected it to be. Haha. I’m a tough customer to please. However, one of the Enchanted Cafe staff blew me away with his honesty. When preparing the dessert for us, I think he realised that his colleague had charged us for “Triple Scoop” instead of a “Double Scoop”. So he came over to me and passed me $2 in cash. WOW. Thanks for your honesty! I wouldn’t have known. And Melody was kicking up a fuss so my darling had taken her out for a walk, so he wouldn’t have checked either. Thank you!!!
This cafe offers (free) water to its patrons, but the dispenser is located to the right of the cashier, so you may miss it unless you’re heading to the toilet at the back of the cafe and happen to spot it.
The entrance to the cafe is via glass doors you’d have to push (or was it pull?) to open, and there’s one step up. I’ve never paid attention to how places are accessible (or not) until I began bringing Melody out in her stroller. I’d think that if I’m a wheelchair user, this one step plus doors I’d have to push/pull would put me off trying to get into this cafe. EVEN THOUGH once inside, it’s pretty spacious – can definitely accommodate stroller or wheelchair! Those auto doors which open at the touch of a button would certainly make the place more welcoming!
All in all, a pleasant spot to have brunch. Perfect if you get a window seat and can people-watch too. Staff are attentive (you’ll get an extra plate when sharing dessert without having to ask for one) and honest.
