Halloween Trick or Treat at Marina Square!

We visited Marina Square today and Melody got to check out the Halloween decor/photospots. She went right up to the gigantic spider and showed no fear (though I hate spiders and always feel like grabbing a trusty slipper to smack them senseless XD XD XD) After the spider pics, we did not get any more good pics as she was starting to get restless as it was near her nap time. Which was perfect as we had plans to head to Rolling Rice for our lunch! You’ll see only a photo of our ‘appetiser’ below as I was ravenous by the time our mains were ready to be collected (slow-cooked with love, I tell you). Ahahaa! So this is the Tuna Roll ($7.90+GST)…

Way smaller IRL. Getting tinier each time we visit, according to my darling. XD

I had the usual – Spicy Seafood Ramen (told them to make it extra spicy) at $12.90 – while he ordered Cheese Hot Pot Ramen and instantly regretted once he saw it. At $10.90, it had noodles, egg and cheese and that was about it. Meanwhile, I had (small) prawns, veggies, mussels and squid. XD

The total bill came up to $34.24 inclusive of GST. Spending above $30 meant we could go claim $3 off parking. Hehehe!

But the best part of the meal has to be Melody SNOOZING while we ate in… PEACE! OMG we took this for granted before she came along. These days, we have to take turns to eat because this little one will be screaming for attention, trying to escape from her stroller or otherwise trying to grab at whatever’s within reach.

Please do this at all mealtimes. Mama and Papa love you!

And apart from parking discounts, there’s also FREE ICE CREAM! If you’ve spent $30, go to Customer Service and claim your Halloween Exclusive ice cream. The voucher will be credited into your Marina Sq app wallet… then you head to Betsubara just behind the Customer Service counter, and get your ice cool treat worth $6.90:

Rockmelon ice cream, served with a little shovel and syringe filled with strawberry syrup(?)

**I just have to add that the Customer Service experience here is fab. Though we had so many questions (“How does this $3 parking discount I see in the app get deducted at the gantry when we drive out?”, “Any other Halloween photospots?”, “Where’s Betsubara?”, “Where’s iClaw?”), the lady was so helpful and extremely patient. Didn’t get her name as she wasn’t wearing a nametag but… the Indian lady at the Customer Service desk today is awesome. 🙂

And oh… the main reason we popped by Marina Square is because the Mothercare atrium sale starts today! 😀 The clothes and toys are… *ahem* not as cheap as at other sales events we’ve been to BUT… I managed to find Harry Potter x Jujube bags at just $10 each! I bought two of these, so Melody and I can carry matching bags in future. XD

Hello, love. You’re so photogenic like your Mama. Ahahaha!

And OH! At the photospot with the enormous spider, I spotted a poster saying new Marina Sq (app) members could use the promo code ‘Halloween23’ to redeem a treat. Mine turned out to be 2 claw tokens for use at iClaw Taiwan at level 3. With my very first token… I caught this pink dino for Melody. XD She was actually not very impressed with the prize. She was more obsessed with hitting the button on the claw machine. LOL.

With the second token, I decided to try clawing a bigger prize – a Bulbasaur plush. And… I obviously failed to get it. That other claw was so weak. Oh well.

Melody almost had a mini meltdown when we wanted to leave after these 2 attempts. Hahaha! Luckily she’s easily distracted. So, off we went. 1 token = $1. Mama just saved a lot of money on those Jujube bags. Not gonna splurge on claw machines. Sorry. XD
