I’ve been to Kiddy Palace in Toa Payoh before – it’s HUGE, spanning the whole of level 3 at the HDB Hub. The previous time I visited, I noted how that immense space was not actually well-utilized, with some spots without any products or with the same products spread out to fill the area. So, yes, it’s about time they did something like this awesome playland within the store to maximize revenue and provide greater enjoyment to their young patrons. One thing I do have to say, though, is that I did not expect it to be so pricey. Since it wasn’t stated in their IG post, which I saw last night, I naively told Hubz that “Perhaps it’s free? So parents can deposit their children there and then go shop in peace, and buy more toys and stuff?”

Muahaha. It’s anything but free OK. Looking in, you can probably tell why it’s called the Royal PlayLand, what with the castle turrets and all. It’s new and therefore pretty attractive. Hubz said staff told him they’ve been open for 5 days only, so it’s really spanking new! Melody’s too young to properly enjoy the facilities. So… folks with older kids, do take them here if you’d like to explore a new indoor play facility!

And here’s how we get to Kiddy Palace… on level 2 is Famous Amos (left) and all the banks (on the right), so go up using the escalator indicated by the red arrow below:

And you’ll see… Kiddy Palace…

It spans the entire level, so you can almost shop till you drop…

Head all the way to the back and you’ll find the Royal PlayLand. And there’s an area with “arcade games” for the little ones. My Melody’s pretty strong, eh?

As for the PlayLand itself, here are the rules and the rates:

As there were more staff than customers when we visited this afternoon, we let Melody sit in the kiddy rides and took photos of her. XD So far, she doesn’t know that inserting cash into these rides makes them move. Ahaha.
