Last Saturday, we went to the ZENXIN store at Pasir Panjang’s Wholesale Centre. I spotted their Instagram post on Friday regarding the now-FREE-to-enter party, and so we brought Melody dressed as a unicorn. It’s probably the last time she can wear this costume as it was intended for 0-6mo babies. And she’s turning 1yo soon. XD
We didn’t quite know what to expect since it’s her very first Halloween party. It turned out to be an intimate affair. Just a few aunties, plus someone’s husband, us, and a mother and her two boys who looked to be about 8 or 9 years old and who came dressed in matching capes and scary masks (likely from Daiso). Melody was most interested in the balloons, such as the white one in the picture above. And she likes chiobu, I’ve realised. There was one young ZENXIN staff with long hair and big eyes, and Melody kept smiling at her.
She’s a real bundle of joy! Though I have to admit I’m now regretting bringing her out on Saturday as she’s currently having a fever – he thinks she might be teething while I think she caught a bug…

So initially, ZENXIN had posted about their ticketed event. $18 per ticket for anyone over 12yo. Then a few days later, it became a free event… which made more sense because: Pasir Panjang (who goes there on weekends… with kids in tow?!)

There was a decent selection of nuts, chocolates, chips, fruit, roasted veggies, etc. And the avocado toast was a hit. I would have eaten more but Melody had fallen asleep and I was carrying her so I ate like a supermodel. XD Interestingly, one auntie (when asked by… the boss?) said she liked a certain type of chocolate but it was all finished (by whom? her?) and the guy did not offer to get another bar of chocolate for her… just like oh? Is it? *nod nod* (I’m grinning behind my mask ‘cos auntie’s obvious hint has been met with nonchalance. XD)

The two boys also got to try their hands at making noodles. Melody will have to wait for a couple more years before she can do something fun like this:

And some of the attendees took home tote bags they ‘designed’ themselves. Use a mallet to whack the leaves on totes.. and you get a pretty print. Wonder if it’ll come right off in the wash though.

One thing I liked about visiting this far-flung location is that there are organic veggies and other items on sale. I got a huge pack of broccoli for $6.90 and 2 other packs of green leafy veg for $2 each. All organic.

After ZENXIN, we went to Harbourfront Centre and played dress-up (perhaps you saw on IG/FB). I might blog about this later. We’ll see.
