Food was still warm upon arrival!

Evidently, Facebook ads WORK… on me! 😀 Been seeing the Citrus Delivery ads on Facebook almost daily now, and today I caved in to the temptation. I’ve dined at Citrus Bistro in Sengkang a number of times already so I know the food’s decent. And I do especially love their Tom Yum Seafood Pasta. So… I ordered 4 mains this afternoon via citrusdelivery.sg and awaited the delivery. Unlike your Grab app, the website doesn’t tell you when’s the expected time your food will arrive, so you could potentially end up waiting and waiting. For instance, my order was placed and confirmed at 4.35pm. The delivery slot I’d selected was 5pm to 5.30pm. (You’re not actually advised whether that’s feasible or not based on your distance from the restaurant). Then 5.30pm came and went and I was wondering if my dinner would arrive at all. So I left a message via their website (no reply), Facebook page (no reply either) and then I called the outlet directly and a lady picked up the phone almost immediately.

That was 5.43pm and brusquely, she said “NOW GO. DRIVER HERE. Now Go!” Alright then.

And at about 6.09pm, the food got here:

I ordered Fiery Hot tom yum seafood pasta ($9.90+). I don’t usually get to choose a fiery hot version when I’m dining in.

It was indeed SPICY! I’m in love. And there’s chili padi in the pasta too so I was not disappointed at all.

Can’t say the same for the Teriyaki Chicken Tomato Pasta ($9.90+) though. I found the chicken slightly dry and the pasta was more sweet than tangy. I’ll need to do something about this when I heat it up for lunch tomorrow.

And then it gets worse. The Baked Salmon ($12.90+) was severely overcooked. It was dry and tough and resembled chicken breast (which I dislike). There was a nice crispy skin, but that’s about it. I’m not sure if it was overcooked already at the restaurant, or it was packed so quickly and continued ‘cooking’ after it was removed from the heat source.

Overcooked salmon. Bummer.

As for the Da Burger Bomb ($11.90+)… hmm, burger was large, yes. But I prefer burger buns which are nicely toasted. And maybe if they were more generous with the sauce, that’d be nice? But you can probably fix that if you have mayonnaise at home. Overall, not too memorable.

But I would certainly order the tom yum seafood pasta again. 😀

Citrus Delivery is offering Ramadan deals, such as (previously) 1-for-1 Chicken Steak Out and the current 1-for-1 Turkey Bacon & Chicken Ham Carbonara. It’s probably worth stalking them on FB and ordering again when, perhaps, they have 1-for-1 Tom Yum Seafood Pasta? 😀
