Dee’s Talk (熙娣想聊) Episode 3

FINALLY! Alyssa Chia (賈靜雯, Jia Jingwen) is the guest for episode 3 of Dee’s Talk! Ok, I have to admit I know who Alyssa is only because I think her husband Xiu Jie Kai (修杰楷) is a ridiculously good-looking actor, and I’m surprised he chose to marry a single mother, who is also 9 years older than him. On the 康熙來了 (Kangxi Coming) show, Dee Hsu has already asked Alyssa many questions about her relationship with XJK so I believe she decided to skip whatever’s been said already and instead, just ask some pretty ‘harmless’ / just-for-fun questions, such as “What will make you dash out of a room? Seeing your daughter making out with her boyfriend or seeing your husband naked and wearing your high-heeled shoes?” XD

** As always, each week’s episode will be available on CATCHPLAY+ and FREE for 48 hours from the 5pm airing on Thursdays. 🙂 So catch it while it’s free, or pay to watch later on! **

Some interesting nuggets of information from episode 3:

  1. To maintain her enviable figure, Dee Hsu (sometimes) survives on a diet of boiled veggies and some meat. If you ask me, I think that it’s probably a necessary sacrifice for those who make a living in the entertainment industry. For the rest of us, there’s no damn need to eat like her… OMG!
  2. Dee also revealed that she has cut down on alcohol. Previously, when she drank quite a bit and often looked bloated, she had about one-and-a-half bottles of red wine per day. Well. No wonder.
  3. While Jia Jingwen married a guy who’s 9 years younger than her, Dee’s quite the opposite. Dee’s husband is 8 years older than she is. And in this episode, Dee keeps claiming she hasn’t been intimate with her husband for the past 3 years. But you must be drunk before you’ll believe her lah. 😛

There were 3 things I found rather strange / curious about this episode:

  1. First, they meet for a massage and while Dee’s lounging, utterly relaxed, her guest Jia Jingwen doesn’t fully lean into the seat. Instead, the latter keeps almost upright and often tries to have her body face Dee during the conversation. Seems like the plan to get the guest all relaxed failed miserably. Ha!
  2. In the vehicle, J gives Dee a gift – some noodles which I suppose J is endorsing. It was a little bit awkward, especially since Dee had revealed earlier that she eats mainly veggies and some meat, and hardly any carbs. Haha! Seemed to me that the noodles would be re-gifted to someone else – maybe the film crew? XD
  3. At the end of this episode, Dee goes to get prescription glasses for her presbyopia(lao hua), unaccompanied. So… erm, this episode is sponsored by the optical shop? I’m confused. (@_@)

*In this episode, the ladies also mention the actor Wu Kang Ren (吳慷仁, Chris Wu). I won’t comment on his looks but he was amazing in the Netflix special ‘Light The Night’ featuring Ruby Lin. In Part 2, WKR cross-dresses as a nightclub’s mamasan – he’s called Baby Mama – and he’s amazing! 😀 Go watch!

And this is completely unrelated to Dee’s Talk… haha…

I’ve been watching Single’s Inferno on Netflix and after seeing the ‘couples’ head to Paradise for their feasts, with no lack of wine, I felt like getting a bottle myself. LOL. I don’t usually drink. So I simply picked out a nice pink bottle from Fairprice Finest and there was a special, promotion price too.

So we had homecooked pasta for lunch… with wine: Five’s Reserve Merlot Rosé. The wine cost just $17.90 (usual: $27). So-so wine. But I got a bit lightheaded after one glass – a funny, unfamiliar sensation.

And I suppose that since 2022 looks like it’ll be 2020 (too) and not very different from 2021… we should all have some alcohol at home. COVID’s here to stay so home is where we should stay (as much as possible). And there’s nothing quite like a glass of wine to make troubling events seem… far away. XD
