Mr Bean’s Promos & How I Was Upsold

I went to Waterway Point yesterday to get tau huay and a pancake from Mr Bean, but ended up returning home with 2 pancakes, 2 drinks and 1 bowl of tau huay. So here’s how I got upsold voluntarily (at first), and then with the help of two aunties working at Mr Bean. XD Let me just say that I got SO BLOATED after the drink + tau huay + pancake. So this is not an experience I’d like to relive again soon. Hahaha!

So… I was in the queue to place my order for just two items when I saw this…

I like their Kaya Cheese pancake as it’s the most interesting mix of sweet and savory. So I got 2 of those and their free soya milk. Plus my tau huay, of course.

Then the auntie at the cashier pointed to the screen above her head… and I wondered what it could be that she wanted me to see… and then this ad came up…

For just $6.90, you can get any 2 pancakes, 2 cups of soya milk plus 1 bowl of tau huay.

So, obviously, I got upsold since both aunties said it’s more worth it. XD

I wanted to buy 2 items, but I left with 5. LOL!

But for $6.90… it really does seem like very good value for money, eh? I suppose it works out if you are sharing it all with more people. Between the two of us, it was a bit of a soy bean overdose. XD

*I found the soy milk to have a really bean-y smell+taste, maybe ‘cos I asked for it to be cold and without sugar added.
